- Known for its rugged glacier-clad summits and rich biodiversity, it offers a spectacular mix of technical climbs, beautiful landscapes, and a variety of wildlife. The mountain's main summit consists of two twin peaks, Batian (5,199 m) and Nelion (5,188 m), both offering high-standard rock and ice climbs. The third highest peak, Point Lenana (4,985 m), is accessible to fit trekkers and requires no technical climbing skills.

Day 1: Nairobi – Old Moses Camp 3300 m
Leave Nairobi at 8:00 am for drive to Nanyuki (4 hours). Proceed to Mt Kenya National Park Sirimon gate. After picnic lunch, follow track uphill 10km to Old Moses camp (3,300 m).
Day 2: Shipton's Camp 4236 m
Hike through Liki Valley via Mackinder Valley to Shipton's Camp (7-8 hours). Lunch on route. Splendid views of north faces of Nelion and Batian peaks.
Day 3: Peak Circuit for Acclimatization
After breakfast, start peak circuit for acclimatization. Ascend steep ridge through Kami Hut, Hausberg Col and Two Tarns Lake (4 hours). Return to Shipton's Camp.
Day 4: Austrian Hut 4700 m
Trek to Austrian Hut, located just east of Point Lenana. Base before climbing Nelion.
Day 5: Point Lenana Summit 4985 m
ArisΠ΅ at 2:00 am for tea and biscuits. Leave at 3:00 am for Lenana summit across tough scree to Harris Tarn. Continue up north face of Point Lenana (45 minutes). Sunrise at 6:30 am. Descend to Austrian Hut.
Day 6: Nelion and Batian Summit 5199 m
Early start to base of route. Use crampons to cross small glacier. Traverse Gate Of Mist to Batian summit. Return to Nelion and Austrian Hut (10-12 hours round trip).
Day 7: Met Station 3048 m
After breakfast, descend to Met Station. Overnight here.
Day 8: Nairobi
Continue walking down through indigenous forest to transport back to Nairobi. Arrive Nairobi late evening.
